Snagit is one of those utilities that can really make your life much easier – especially if you work on the Web like us or take hundreds of screenshots every day.
With Snagit you can take and edit screenshots in many different ways. Besides the traditional capturing profiles found in older versions of the program (full screen, selected window, user-defined region or scrolling web page, among others) the all new Snagit 10 includes the All-in-One mode, which lets you capture anything on the screen on the fly, switching from one profile to another as you move the cursor on the screen.
But Snagit is not only for taking screenshots. The program includes also a powerful image editor that has been greatly improved over the years. The new editor in Snagit 10 features improved transparency management and new page curl effects. Also, it makes image sharing even easier thanks to the built-in tool to post captures to Screencast.com right away. Add to this the selections, callouts, arrows and other elements to modify your captures, and you get the perfect screenshot editor.
The interface in Snagit 10 hasn’t changed that much. After being totally overhauled between versions 8 and 9, this new installment keeps the same Vista-like charcoal design as before.
Snagit is certainly one of the best screen capturing tools we’ve tried. We love the way it lets you capture images in many different ways, and add all sorts of elements and effects to them with real-time preview. Of course, there are some other functions that aren't so useful – like the image tagging and labeling tool – but overall, Snagit is an excellent program and an indispensable tool for anyone who works on the web.
